Help what movie is this?

whats this movie i saw it when i has 5 and it must be old now it was on video. It was called the ?????? and it had a eagle and i boy with a big guy trying to capture him its based in my country (Australia) and its also based in the center of Australia where the desert is. it has to mouse or rats i forgot and a kangaroo with Aussie clothes on HELP!!!
