My Mac Messenger version 3 suddenly stopped working?

I can IM, but upon entry into a Yahoo chat room I see no activity whatsoever for the duration. I understand, via IMs with friends, that my posts are visible within the room, but NO posts are visible to me. This started around 6/26/08. I have uninstalled and re-installed the messenger, but there was no change. Any ideas?
