Is there any disadvantage to having a propane tank for gas?

It's there because the house isn't serviced by a gas utility. Very common in rural areas. Use of propane doesn't really cost any more than natural gas from a utility. The only drawback is that maintenance of the tank and ociated pipe line to the house is the owner's responsibility.
