I am having a winter wedding, should I have the candy buffet or cocoa packages as the favor?

I heard that the candy buffet is suppose to be the favor for the guest for the evening, or just something else to have, wasn't for sure. I wanted something that people would actually take with them than leave.I am thinking about having 10 different candy's with the colors of blue, white and silver. Also it can be for all different ages of guests. The candy consists of: Hershey kisses, peppermint patties, tootie frooties, blue raspberry sourpatch kids, raspberry laffy taffy,cotton candy (maybe), mentos, white chocolate almonds, lifesavers and M&M's.
