Why do people bother to thaw out a turkey?

I was just watching a story on the news about people getting sick because they didn't properly thaw out their turkey? (Some stuff was really crazy like putting the turkey in the bathtub with their kids haha). But why do people thaw it in the first place? I've cooked Turkeys for 20 years and never thawed one out, never got sick, and the bird taste as good as one that was thawed. I saw two elderly ladies in the store the other day looking at these expensive turkeys that said "straight from freezer to oven"....I couldn't believe they were going to pay almost $1.00 more per pound for something I've done my entire life! I took one of my dads tool razor blades out of the garage and put it in my pocket with the intention of keeping it just because. Well it ended up cutting me in my pocket. Not too deep but there is a little blood. There are cuts in 2 places and in one of the places the skin is a little inflames in sort of a white circle. The razors were washed with hand soap and water. 10 PTZ! Periods? I think i did something wrong?

Hey guys, So im 15 and recently did something stupid like the atkins diet which im not allowed to do at my age.... well i lost 5 pounds and gained it back quickly, as i wasn't able to follow through. I did this about a month ago, maybe had one period in between and i am one one now. I am getting horrible cramps/ pains that seem to have worsen within that time. I usually take pamprin, but now that is not even working and i can't take midol. Do you think the diet is effecting my periods? Why do some people feel that they're better than they actually are?

As far back as grade school, I remember that the least "appealing" kids were usually the ones who bullied others the most and acted up in cl while they were also the dumbest (academically). Even to this day I deal with some people who feel they're so special, act so arrogantly, boast about themselves so much, and yet they're just "run-of-the-mill." I'm not saying that you have to be blessed with killer good looks and high intellect to be proud of yourself, but I can't stand people who behave so obnoxiously and feel that they know so much more and are so much better than everyone when it's obviously not the case. Why can't such people be much more modest and stop fooling themselves?

Like my IQ is supposedly 97 and I have a learning disability. Basically my disability deals with memory. It's very weird in that I just have to read things over and over and over again and eventually, I remember everything. SO, by the time the test comes, I have the book and the lectures memorized. Vocal problems after pneumonia...any solutions?

I came down with walking pneumonia at the beginning of April this year after having bronchitis several times a year since eighth grade (I'm now a senior). It sounds like he's interested. Since you guys belong to the same gym, ask him something about the gym (how do you use a certain piece of equipment, what weight should you use to tone but not bulk up, when is it slow, is one of the trainers good, etc) or if he'd like to work out together sometime. (The gym is also a way to get him to help you with your workout. If he's good at exercise then you could ask him for some pointers or even to help train you or use a new piece of equipment. That way he'll be complimented on you thinking of him as a good example and he'll be able to teach you something, a favorite pastime of guys) If the gym is a bad idea then tell him you need a guy's opinion about something (like your hair- straight or curly?) and ask him to help you out. My fiance and I have been TTC for about a year now. My last period was Nov. 23 and my period has always been about a week off, for example, my period comes about a week late. I expected I was ovulating on Dec. 20th because of EWCM. We BD'd on the 20-25. We also read about people successfully concieving when using real eggwhites as lubricant to increase the chances of getting pregnant. Apparently it mimics the affects of EWCM and makes a better enviornment. After BD I sat with my hips up for about 20 min. On January 7th I had light spotting, only when I went to the bathroom. It was light pink and very watery. The next day it got a little heavier and then ended up becoming like a normal period. This bleeding only lasted about two days, and overnight I had a tampon in and the next morning, there was nothing on it at all. Later that day, it started back up. The bleeding continued to be this way, ( come and go throughout the day ) for around two more days and then stopped completely. Usually I have a fairly heavy period, to where I need to change a tampon every 2.5 to 3 hours. The bleeding stopped a few days ago, however, I still have the same symptoms that made me expect pregnancy in the first place. I still have sore , more frequent urination, and have had mild cramping and gas all day. I have had headaches the past few days, and I dont usually get them. I have been overly emotional and moody, and exhausted no matter how much sleep I get. I have had random hits of nausea throughout the day over the last few weeks. I know that we have been TTC for a while, so my hopes could be high! But I was just wondering if anyone experienced any bleeding like this in early pregnancy? I recently got approved for the walmart credit card. I only shop at walmart and sam's club. I was wondering has anyone had problems with there walmart credit card? Also I have heard that some credit card companys send there payment bill late to the customer so therefore the customer makes a payment late and has to pay interest. Can you explain to me how you pay for your credit card bill? I know the bill comes in and you send them money for it, but can you pay at a local walmart, online with a bank debit card? etc. Also my husband says that the only way it will help your credit score is if you pay the whole amount before the bill comes in is that true? Ok, early in the 3rd quarter of the super bowl, the Packers were leading 21-10. The Steelers then scored a touchdown, bringing the score to 21-16. The Steelers proceeded to attempt a single-point conversion, which they compleated, bringing the score to 21-17. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it was stupid of whoever made the desision not to attempt a two point conversion. If successful, it would have made the score 21-18, meaning that a feild goal later in the game for the Steelers could tie the score. If the 2 point conversion was not successful, the score would have remained 21-16, which is no worse then a score of 21-17 because a subsequent touchdown for the Steelers would result in them taking the lead either way, and a feild goal would still result in them trailing by 1 or 2 points respectively. I don't see how the single point conversion was the better choice. Can someone explain if there is something I'm not getting here?

Different computer problems every time i start it seems?

Ok the first thing that went wrong was that there was a blinking white cursor on the screen before it loads the operating system. Well eventually i got that working, i scanned for viruses updated windows. And then the next time the monitor doesnt work. keep in mind i never moved anything so the monitor that worked before isnt working now. Do you think its a video problem or what. Also note the num/caps/scroll lock lights do not turn on. and the mouse light doesnt turn on. the fans on spinning and the hard drive is spining and the cdrom drive opens. I also know its not the monitor because it will say no signal on the monitor. But then sometimes when i turn the PC on i see the display just like normal and then it goes to the blinking white cursor again.this is a desktop. please help.

Iodine to expose a cell? Unless you're testing for starch metabolism I don't see why you'd use iodine. I would think you'd just use immersion oil with a high objective lens, after doing something like a gram stain, or even simpler, a negative stain like india ink or something.

How can I gently tell my boyfriend that he's a conversation HOG?

My boyfriend whom I love and adore is very smart, no brilliant. He has always inspired me to be better and smarter and I love him for his ability to articulate what he thinks and feels. But I notice that, majority of our conversations are not only dominated by him but they are usually "heavy" in topic. Meaning, he's always talking about the dismal outlook on the world, economical woes, business ventures etc. He's very serious-minded but sometimes I wish he would lighten up or just enjoy a silly conversation. It's draining, because he gets so intense in these convos and usually I may get 5 minutes of talk out of a 2 hour+ long conversation. I don't think he notices it, but I don't want to offend him by telling him basically to shut the hell up sometimes and lighten up. First of all..i looovee all time low! they're amazing, i've seen them three times. The shirt is perfect to wear. It's good to wear a shirt that supports the band you're going to see. Umm. So today i just got new gles. And apperently my perscription got worse. Even tho i can still see fine thru my old ones. Some things are just a little blurry. So my new ones aare stronger than my old ones obviously. And im having an unusually tuff time getting used to them. Ive had them all day and normally i can get used to new gles in like a few hours.
